Perched atop a small hillock close to town, Gangtey Palace is one of the only heritage hotels in Paro Bhutan. Enriched with great views of the Paro Dzong, a nice open garden, and a cute bar the hotel offers a comprehensive view of the beautiful Paro valley and the verdant fields around. It is located close to the Paro town, thus convenient to take a talk into the traditional street of Paro for shopping.
The standard rooms are on the small side, but the five deluxe rooms are spacious. The governor’s suite is the best room at the Gangtey Palace which can be upgraded with a small additional premium. The comfortable and cozy furnishing of the hotel displays amazing Bhutanese architecture which is enhanced with its friendly and attentive staff. It is one of the best hotels in Paro Bhutan.

The building is 100 years old, originally owned by the Paro Penlop, the feudal ruler of Paro who converted it into a royal residence in 1928. The property became a hotel only in 1995.
